Statement
I have been interested in art since I was a child, my works express the emotional struggles I have faced during my life. I have a condition that makes me feel misunderstood and coming into contact with art allows me to be in tune with myself and helps me overcome my emotional ups and downs.
The creative process has become self-healing for me. I believe that art can also be a tool to heal humanity.
My background is a mix of three cultures: Native American, Ukrainian, and Brazilian; but my vision is universal. I grew up in the Lakota tribal tradition and when I paint, I channel my spirit into abstract paintings; in them I represent my deepest emotions caused by daily encounters with society and life itself.
Nature is a constant reference in my work because it allows me to show my inner voice. In my work I put the feelings that ravage my heart; my anger, my fears, worries and sadness.
Art is an escape and a form of communication where I can feel more secure. I try to create beauty by putting my conflicted state of mind into my different abstract designs. I use a variety of techniques to spread the paint across the canvases. I let my emotions guide me through the painting process and its design, making each work unique in itself.
My works are not made to be perfect, but each one has its own character. In the eyes of mother nature, we are all beautiful creations in our own world.
The meaning and purpose of my works is to reflect the dichotomy of peace and destruction in which we all live today.
I would like viewers of my artwork to draw their own conclusions with genuine humility.
